Annie Tempest is one of Britain's best loved cartoonists. In 1993 Annie embarked upon her current internationally acclaimed cartoon strip 'Tottering-by-Gently' for the Country Life Magazine. She has the knack of laughing gently at the stuff of life; making fun out of any and all situations in an amusing and kindly way.
Tottering-by-Gently is a village in the fictional county of North Pimmshire, where Lord and Lady Tottering reside at their ancestral home, Tottering Hall with their dogs. Annie’s prints are based on the daily life of Lord and Lady Tottering and she casts her gimlet eye over every aspect of their lives which she records in her beautifully executed cartoons. Annie now has an international following and Dogs in Art is delighted to exhibit a number of her more notable cartoons which feature the Tottering’s dogs.
