Nina has a love of texture and pattern, born whilst working as a designer in a linen mill, and further developed whilst running her own award-winning business designing and making rugs. She now works in oil, which has proved to be a more versatile medium, and frees her from the practical limitations of textile design and manufacture. Her love of texture remains and is clearly visible in her painting where layers of paint create huge depth; sometimes creating a distressed appearance and, at other times, giving life to layer after layer of the coat of a beautiful dog. Nina's paintings of dogs are not only photographic in their realism but also capture spontaneity and character. She lives in Gloucestershire with her husband and numerous Irish Wolfhounds.
