Lifesized Territorial Swan. Driftwood sculpture assembled onto a stainless steel frame and mounted on a marble inlaid base by James Doran Webb.
Hundreds of hours in the making, this bird sculpture is made from driftwood, each piece carefully selected and placed to match the flow of the muscles in the body. The wood is found along the shorelines and riverbeds of the Phillippines archipelago and is from a number of indigenous species, all dense enough to withstand years and years of exposure to the extreme tropical climate. It is advised that the inlaid marble base be removed if it is to be kept outdoors. About the Artist
